"JA of Western Massachusetts has the largest singular stock market
challenge in the country and we are launching the first ever college
challenge this year. This event not only allows Junior Achievement to raise
money to support financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs
throughout the year, it also gives JA the chance to teach over 500 students
about stocks, investing, team work and problem-solving skills. This truly ties
to our mission of inspiring young people to succeed in a global economy.
Fun-Raiser, Inc. is excellent to work with, enthusiastic and put on a great
event. We look forward to many more years of the Stock Market Challenge!"
Amanda Huston, Vice President of Operations, JA Western MA.
Students
Everyday young people use software that
simulates warfare, fighting, and auto theft. So
we thought, why not develop a program with
that same level of excitement and technology,
but that would inspire them to learn more
about the market and ultimately empower
themselves.

Why not get kids excited about the market?

In both events students receive detailed
information on the market which they must
analyze prior to the opening bell. When the
game begins every "day" is only 1 minute long.
News and Information on the changing market
is constantly streamlined to them.

How well teams react to these fluctuations,
comprehend this "News," and adapt their
investing strategies will determine their overall
success in the event.

Regardless of whether they win or not, all
students will have their analytical tools put to
the test in a fast paced and competitive
environment. They'll also never forget the day
they stepped inside the virtual market!

Of course nothing beats class time and hard
work but if you're looking for an abstract
teaching tool as a fun cap off to a lesson then
